Project Installation Details
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING INSTALLATION
Thank You for choosing Absolute Floors for your home improvement services. You have signed your contract and made your deposit so “What’s Next”. Below is a guide of what to expect during your installation service with tips to help it be a smooth and stress-free process.
1 - Decision Maker on site - The decision maker MUST be present at the beginning and end of the installation. Please be sure the person who will be responsible for the hiring and approving of the installation is present at the time of your in-home free estimate and the last day of installation.
2 - Materials - If you are supply your own materials for the installation ALL needed materials including adhesives, subflooring, grouts etc. must be on site before any work can begin. Your installers will look at what you have before beginning and make sure all is there. When Installing new Wood or Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring the materials MUST be brought inside to acclimate to the temperature of the room they are being installed in. Failure to do so can void both the Manufacturer and Installation Warranties.
3 - Clear Room of Furniture/Appliances and Remove the Fragile and/or Valuables from the area of installation – If not included in your project furniture moving will be the responsibility of the home-owner or person hiring us for the installation services. All furniture MUST be moved before installers arrive. Any low hanging light chandeliers need to be raised above 6’6” so we do not hit our heads on them.
a. When Furniture/Appliance moving is part of your project customer will be responsible for moving small items and disconnecting electric systems, water taps, or gas appliances when needed.
b. Absolute Floors does not move large or valuable antique furniture such as Piano’s or China and Hutch cabinets. All furniture MUST be empty and cleared of all valuables before being moved. Absolute Floors does not assist in moving of personal items.
4 - Painting and other finishes –
Customer should hold off on any painting or finish work in the area to receive flooring. Our workers do their best however sometimes tools or boxes of materials may touch a wall during work causing minor scratches and dings. Absolute Floors is NOT responsible for the cost of repairs to a customer’s walls.
5 - Cleanliness- Dust created during the installation. Keep other rooms closed off – Whenever possible close doors to adjacent rooms where installation is being done. Many flooring installation services will create dust, in order to avoid dust etc from affecting other rooms we ask that you close them off if possible, if doors cannot be closed tightly or it is an open adjacent area please use plastic to close off the openings to those rooms as well. Absolute Floors Installers will not be responsible for cleaning any rooms other than sweeping where the installation was done.
6 - Prepare an area for contractors working and waste disposal – It would be best to create a working space for your flooring installers to prepare the flooring materials such as trimming wood and resizing of materials. However, this area should not be to far away from the entrance.
a. When trash removal/disposal is part of your estimate you will want to have an area, the waste can be kept together until it is picked up.
b. If trash removal/disposal is NOT part of your estimate you will want to make sure you have adequate container’s (trash barrels) for the materials to go in. You will also want to contact your trash company to make them aware of the added construction waste to your normal pick-up.
7 - Ensure the safety of your pets – Pets form part of many families including our own, we take their safety seriously. In order to ensure their safety, we ask you to secure your pets in a room/area of the house separate from where the installation is being done. We also ask they are secured to avoid escape to the outdoors, your installers will make trips in and out of your home throughout the process.
8 - Walk-through your job once completed and BEFORE your installers leave – The decision maker for the project MUST be present at the end of the installation to walk the job with your installer and check the work done. At the time of your walk-through, you will want to point out anything you do not find satisfactory for them to fix before leaving.
9 - Final Billing and day of installation check-in - On the morning of your installation, you will receive your final invoice VIA email. Your final payment is due upon completion of your project.
10 - Natural Stone-
This is a natural fault line within the stone. It is not crack or defect; we will not remove these as it is part of its natural design and beauty.
